Box Office Opening Hours

The Box office opening hours are Monday to Friday 12 noon - 5.30 pm in 69 O'Connell Street and Monday to Friday from 2pm to 5.30 pm in The Lime Tree Theatre. On the evening of a show the box office opens from 6 pm to 8pm in the venue of the performance (The Lime Tree Theatre or 69 O'Connell Street). Phone bookings can be made by calling (061) 774774 - if you are calling outside of box office opening hours be sure to leave your name and number and we will call you back.

About Us

The Lime Tree Theatre is a brand new, state-of-the-art 510 seat theatre, situated in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick city centre. Officially opened on October 30th 2012, the venue hosts a wide range of performances, including theatre, music, comedy, traditional arts, schools’ performances and conferences. As a large scale theatre, it will be a significant addition to the national cultural infrastructure and, most especially to the cultural, social and economic life of Limerick and the mid-west.

The Lime Tree Theatre is situated on the rapidly expanding campus of Mary Immaculate College which offers a wide range of programmes in Education and the Liberal Arts at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Currently, over 3,000 students are engaged in studies here.

She is currently a member of the Arts Council.

How to find us

Directions to the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick

Coming from East/North on M7 (Nenagh/Dublin)

Follow the by-pass around Limerick city to last exit before the tunnel (EXIT 2)

Coming from the south on M20  (Kerry / Cork)

Take M20 towards Limerick, following signs for Shannon/Galway. Join M7 and continue to last exit before the tunnel (EXIT 2).

From EXIT 2:

At roundabout at bottom of off-ramp at EXIT 2, take 3rd exit, following signs for the city centre.
Immediately after passing under the motorway, is a second roundabout, take 2nd exit, continuing to follow signs for City Centre.
Drive approx. 1 km, come to another roundabout, go straight through, continuing towards the city centre.
Drive through next set of traffic lights.
At second set of traffic lights, turn right on to Courtbrack Avenue
Drive approx 300m, main entrance to Mary Immaculate College is on the left.
Drive into the grounds, following the road as it veers to the right. The Theatre is in the main modern building directly ahead. Parking is to the left. (The first car park is pay parking, the others further on to the left of the building are free).

Coming from the west on M18  (Galway / Clare)

Take M18/N18 towards Limerick.  Drive under the Shannon through the tunnel (tolled). Take the 1st exit after the tunnel (Exit 2).  At roundabout at bottom of off-ramp, take second exit left, continuing to follow signs for City Centre (The first exit off this roundabout is a minor road).
Drive approx. 1 km, come to another roundabout, go straight through, continuing towards the city centre.
Drive through next set of traffic lights.
