Don’t Panic! | Belltable Towel Day
Belltable Towel Day
Belltable | Saturday, 25th May | 7.42pm (you know why!)| €18/€16/€10*
*If you arrive wearing/openly carrying a towel, your ticket will be €10
Duration: 3 hours approx incl. interval
Belltable’s tribute to author Douglas Adams, rehearsed reading of the original radio series of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, with much music and sound.
This is an evening of intergalactic travel in search for the answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe and Everything.
Directed by Tara Doolan with an eclectic ensemble of Limerick actors Myles Breen, Elaine O’Dwyer, Pius McGrath, Georgina Miller, Mícheál ‘Moley’ Ó Súilleabháin and sound design by Phil Shanahan.
Experience the adventures of alien Ford Prefect and earthlink Arthur Dent, as they hitchhike their way through the Galaxy when the Earth is accidentally destroyed. Will they be able to shake off the smart Trillian (aka Tricia McMillan), fjords-loving Slartibartfast, two-headed and three-armed Zaphod Beeblebrox and philosopher Vroomfondel? Will the mice be able to conclude their test on humans?
Bring your towel, because ‘any man [or woman] who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man [or woman] to be reckoned with’.
The event includes only a small amount of Vogon poetry.
