BA in Contemporary and Applied Theatre Studies presents

On the Outside | On the Inside

By Tom Murphy

Directed by Joan Sheehy

Lime Tree Theatre | Tue 7th – Thu 9th May | 8pm | €14/€10

The final year class of the BA in Contemporary and Applied Theatre Studies is pleased to present Tom Murphy’s little-produced companion plays, On the Outside and On the Inside.

Outside (penned in 1959) is set outside a dancehall in rural Ireland and examines the financial and local politics of entry. Inside is a later play (first produced in 1974) and portrays the well-heeled, socially accepted “insiders” and their frustrations of the dancehall scene.

Joan Sheehy directs this young cast and gives Murphy’s great words a timeless and universal quality in this unique two-sided performance.
