Award winning concert pianist Santa Ignace performs one of the best loved masters of romantic piano music – Frederic Chopin.

To perfectly set the mood for some of the best loved masters of romantic piano music – Frederic Chopin is undoubtedly the number one choice. His compositions explore and exhaust every technical and emotive possibility of the instrument and show the genius of his ability and imagination, setting a challenge for any serious performer of piano music to deliver them with the confidence and passion they deserve. Interestingly Chopin’s famed reputation as a preeminent piano virtuoso and improviser arose from his many appearances in society drawing rooms and salons such as this one. His haunting and intriguing music covers the full spectrum of emotion from gentle suggestion to dramatic explosion and none more so than his four ballades.

Santa Ignace is an award winning Concert pianist Santa Ignace began her piano studies at the age of six, with her father as her first teacher. Carefully and intentionally Santa has combined her early jazz influences with thirty years of intense study and competition in the field of Classical and Romantic music, to develop her unique interpretations of the most challenging pieces by Rachmaninov, Liszt, Chopin, Scriabin, Godowski and others. She has presented these works with great success in recitals and performances at various venues in Latvia, Ireland, France, England and The Netherlands.
Over the past academic year, Santa has also been in the honoured position to take external Masterclasses in Orchestral Conducting with renowned Maestro – a conductor of Mariinsky Theatre Leonid Korchmar, who is the Assistant of the world famous Maestro Valeriy Gergiev. During one of those Masterclasses, at the end of March, 2018, she already had the opportunity to conduct a Symphony orchestra of St Petersburg for the first time. Recently, she has also featured in a short film “A Musical Moment” in collaboration with London based film director Rudolfs Mikelsons.
