MIDAS is proud to present its 19th annual musical, the wonderful Seussical.

The celebrated books by Dr. Seuss have been turned into a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the composers of Ragtime and Once On This Island. Seussical has lovingly brought to life all of the favourite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville!

These classic, colourful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and a “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds, you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages. The score emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk.
Seussical The Musical debuted on Broadway in 2000 and has rapidly become a firm favourite with audiences from the youngest to the oldest.

MIDAS has become acclaimed in recent years for its endless pool of youthful talent and high production values. 2018 will be no different…Seussical will feature a large company of students of MIC College, will be directed by Lee Dillon & choreography by Robyn O’Brien. Musical direction by Noel Lennon and Dr Michael Finneran as producer.  Given the commitment, energy and passion that this company has become renowned for, this show is really not to be missed.
The youthful exhuberance and energy of the MIDAS company is sure to bring the magical words of Dr Seuss to life explosively of this little performed but wonderful musical, which is a fabulous night-out for all the family.
