The Last Five Years is a musical written by Jason Robert Brown. It tells the story of the five-year relationship of Cathy Hiatt and Jamie Willerstein. Cathy is an actress in New York, trying to make it big in the city and struggling through every-day life. Jamie is a rising novelist and is progressing well.

Cathy is trying her very best to make it as a working actress in New York City. As her career struggles, so does she. Her daily life becomes a mixture of anger and anxiety and Jamie is always there to support her troubling thoughts. Jamie has promised himself he will become a successful novelist and things work out well for him. He writes about his relationship with Cathy and the book gets picked up and published by an editor. Things come far easier to him than they do to Cathy and this puts a strain on their togetherness. They grow in different directions and they end on heart breaking terms.

Sarah Corcoran and Brian Roche take on the lead roles. No stranger to performing, these good friends have put everything they have into this show and take the audience with them in this emotional show.

With influences in Jazz, Latin, Classical, Rock and Folk, The Last Five Years is brought to the Belltable, Limerick for two magical nights in May 2020 by these two wonderful Limerick/Clare actors.

This beautiful musical tells the honest story of a real relationship, it is a rollercoaster of emotions, honesty and an eventual, inevitable demise.
