The Nightingale and the Rose is a tale of unrequited love, radical transformation and extraordinary sacrifice. We are enormously proud to present the world premiere of this brand new opera by John O’Brien, inspired by Oscar Wilder’s timeless story.

A highly inventive new work, this opera features singers, musician-actors, dancers and actors brought to you by the critically and popularly acclaimed team whose previous productions include Faust, Der Vampyr, Orpheus and the award-winning Pagliacci.  An extraordinary chance to celebrate the richness and depth of musical talent in Munster.

‘eagerly anticipated’ – Declan Townsend, Irish Examiner.
