After two sold out rehearsed readings on the Belltable stage, Limerick’s award winning Bottom Dog Theatre Company continue their 12th annual season of rehearsed readings – FOUR PARTY PLAYS – this Thursday 17th September at 8pm, once again for a social distanced audience.

Their third play is the all time American classic WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF by Edward Albee. A thought-provoking masterpiece that exposes marital discontent, dysfunction and delusion through a war of verbal attrition between a university professor, his wife, and their unwitting guests, the play won the Tony Award in 1963 and it’s much loved movie adaptation starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton was a massive Oscar success.

Bottom Dog welcomes back Brendan Conroy to Limerick – who is best known for his star turn in their 2014 production of The Bachelor of Kilkish – but to the director’s chair this time. He directs his Bachelor co-star Deirdre Monaghan (Game of Thrones) opposite Bottom Dog’s own Myles Breen as George. The cast is rounded out by two of Limerick’s most exciting younger actors of recent years, Johanna O’Brien and Pius McGrath.

With an iconic play and this stellar creative team, Bottom Dog’s 47th staged reading to date, is another night to put in your diary as Limerick gets back to enjoying live theatre at Belltable.
